Filleting fish

Megan's Mum and Dad came along on Monday to teach us how to fillet fish.  Brendon demonstrated on a kahawai and Cherie, a pilchard - a small fish used mainly for bait.  They had bought along enough pilchards for us each to attempt the art of filleting.  Some of us were more successful than others.  While we were filleting the fish, Megan's sister, Amy, cooked up the kahawai and also some kingfish for us to eat.  This was a great experience for us.

  1. Mrs Jackson you should be a photographer, these photos are excellent, just love the expressions on the kids faces. Brendon and I had a great time showing the kids how to fillet a fish. Your class is awesome!
