Report Writing

We are currently working on report writing.  A report is written in the 3rd person and the purpose is to give information.  This information is grouped in paragraphs.  We are also working on using different sentence starters.

The dog belongs to the canine family.  There are numerous types of dogs.

Dogs look different depending on their breed.  They come in all different sizes and shapes.  Dogs are usually fluffy but some are not, like bull dogs.

Dogs always love to bark when someone or something enters there back garden or farm.

You can teach dogs all sorts of tricks like fetching sticks or bringing slippers and sitting when you say.

Dogs do things like bark, eat things under the tea table, fetch sticks and chew on shoes and slippers.

Dogs have lots of different jobs like labrador guide dogs for blind, a St Bernard for people lost on the hill, huskies for pulling sleighs, border collies for farms, chitzu for pets and german shepherds for the police.

Dogs are good pets and are loyal.  Dogs are man's best friend.

Captain Lancaster

Captain Lancaster is one very strict teacher so don't try nonsense because he won't take it.  On the other hand his clothes are always clean and rich.  His squid ward nose hangs over his nicely combed black moustache.  He wears an old fashioned bow tie.

Danny

Danny is a poor little boy.  He has grease marks all over his clothes.  He has small pimple like eyes.  He walks around with a spanner in his right hand.

Alistair

Danny is a very short, skinny, bony child who looks like he is 7 or 8.  He wears grubby clothes and small shoes to protect his tiny feet.  His face is loaded with a big broad smile, a normal size nose and little happy eyes.  Danny has scruffy blonde hair and pale skin.  He has dirty hands that are always there to lend some help to his father.

Lily

Danny is a young boy.  He helps his dad fix cars.  He's always dirty from the grease marks.  He is very short, skinny and bony.  You should see his legs; they are like matchsticks.

Mrs Twit

Mrs Twit has a witch like nose, that is very pointy and goes into people's business.  She is a very chubby person, who has a walking stick to help her.  Her hair looks like she hasn't brushed it for ever.  She has teeth so out of line it would cost her a fortune to get them replaced.

Haiku

In Writing we learnt how to write the Japanese poem - the Haiku.  This poem is based around nature and uses a syllable structure of 5, 7, 5.  Mrs Jackson shared some images from Google and we wrote a haiku about them.  We weren't very good at counting syllables at the beginning but got much better!!

iPad Training

Mrs Jackson is learning how to use the iPad to post to our blog! She has been using some new apps that she will share with us later.
